Factory unlocking your own phone is legal in virtually every country. Here's how the law treats it in the major markets we serve, and the standards we hold ourselves to.
01Phone unlocking is legal
- United States — explicitly legal under the Unlocking Consumer Choice and Wireless Competition Act (2014); factory unlocking does not violate the DMCA, and FCC rules require carriers to unlock eligible devices.
- European Union — consumer-protection and device-portability rules; carriers cannot refuse to unlock a contract-free device.
- United Kingdom — permitted; Ofcom requires networks to unlock on request.
- Canada — the CRTC Wireless Code requires devices to be provided unlocked (since Dec 2017).
- Australia & global — legal under consumer law; factory unlocking is lawful in nearly all jurisdictions.
02We never touch stolen or blacklisted devices
We refuse service for devices reported lost, stolen, or blacklisted. Blacklist status is verifiable before you order via our IMEI checks, and we cooperate with law enforcement where required.
03You confirm ownership
By ordering, you confirm you own the device or are authorised to unlock it. This keeps the service lawful and protects genuine owners.
04Data protection
We operate under GDPR and CCPA standards. We collect only what's needed to complete your order (IMEI, device, email), never sell your data, and secure payments to PCI-DSS. See our Privacy Policy.
05Anti-fraud
Automated fraud detection, IP and geolocation checks, and manual review on higher-value orders keep the platform safe for legitimate customers.
